ABOUT LYSANDER
Despite being born three years apart, Alex and Elyse have always considered each other as close as twins.
They grew up together, watched everything together and played with their Bratz dolls together. So it only made sense that they would make films together, too.
The Landsberry “Twins” grew up in a boisterous household filled with actors, musicians and writers. So, from a young age, Alex and Elyse were encouraged to perform on stage, which is where they became addicted to the arts.
After school, Alex was selected to study Music Theatre at the Western Australia Academy of Performing Arts. He studied storytelling through words; both sung and spoken. The creation of a musical cabaret cultivated Alex’s love of composition and rhythm. A love which would later become … instrumental. Alex has performed in numerous professional productions including starring in Disney Star’s Zombie TVC, Greg Page’s children’s show: “Two by 2” and Bollywood feature “We Are Family”.
Elyse’s fascination with words and love for collaboration catalysed her study at AFTRS (BA Screen: Production). The BA exposed Elyse across all areas of filmmaking, specialising primarily in writing, directing, animation & producing. Elyse has since managed teams as a Production Coordinator at Blackbird, debuted professionally with short film “Drawing the Line” (SBS) and animated on a docuseries called “Larapinta” (SBS, NITV). Elyse’s animation also featured in the 2023 Sydney Film Festival with “To Be Silent” (dir. Tace Stevens). In 2024, Elyse’s graduation film “Miss Trial” won Best International Film at the Women’s Comedy Film Festival in Atlanta, and was nominated for Sydney Lift Off Film Festival.
Upon the completion of their degrees, the twins joined forces to create ‘Lysander Films’.
